Established in 1997, Le Bijou is a small home-based kennel in the heart of Columbia, Maryland. Our home was bought and renovated for the sole purpose of housing our growing Papillon family.

Our vision began when we visited a local dog show and decided that we wanted to begin showing dogs. Little did we know what chain of events this would set in motion. We were definitely bitten by the bug! After evaluating various breeds, we decided on the Papillon for its intelligence and versatility.

We were blessed by our first show prospect Papillon, Jazzbo's Sharp Shooter, sold to us by Donna Clas of Jazzbo's Kennels. Codi soon when on to become an American champion. Our second dog and our foundation bitch, Linderhof's Sweet Pea Le Bijou was sold to us for Ute Santella of Linderhof Kennels. Shelbe, as she is so lovingly called, quickly became champion and was destined for the whelping box. It was from that whelping box that Le Bijou Pappillons was established.

We consider ourselves very fortunate that we have had the opportunity to make acquaintances with several very prominent Papillon breeders, such as, Jazzbo, Linderhof, Cadaga, L'ete, Forevr, Blicci, and Janais Kennels. With the help of these breeders, we have incorporated top winning American and European bloodlines into our breeding program giving us a firm foundation for our kennel.

With continued breeding success, we look forward to the future and contributing to the breed by offering Papillons of superior quality, correct breed type and soundness of conformation, agility, and obedience, as well as, loving family pets.

Elisa is a certified Veterinary Assistant, an Advanced Pet Sitting Technician, and a professional dog handler.

Elisa owns Club Pooche, one of Howard County's premiere doggie daycare and doggie boarding facilities.

Elisa has served as a caregiver to both people and animals for many years which more than qualify her as an expert in her chosen fields.
